Build Over Agreements Explained
A build over agreement is necessary when your build is taking place over, or within 3 metres of, a public sewer. The agreement confirms that the foundations of your new construction have allowed sufficient clearance from the sewer and that access to the sewer will still be possible when necessary.
Your application and supporting documents must be sent to your local water board. They will assess all documentation to ensure your works won’t damage the sewer system. Documents are drawn up with the aim of proving that your work complies with regulations; this can also affect the future saleability of your property.
